We are super excited to finally work with one of Carlos Montero’s coffees. Carlos runs the farm La Pastora in the Region of Tarrazu, Costa Rica.
Back in 2014, after having produced coffees for their local coffee cooperative for over 20 years, Carlos took the decision to establish his own micro-mill and continued to process all his coffees at the farm. From then on they could regulate their own coffee, focus on innovating production methods and ensure top cup quality. They now produce all their coffees with quality over quantity mindset and are now specializing in Honey, Natural and clean fully washed coffees.
Today, two of Carlos's children, Jacob and Marianela, are involved in coffee and working together on the farm. Carlos grew up watching his father struggle through hard times that smallholder farmers often are faced with, but set out to create opportunities for himself as well as his family’s farm.
We are truly proud to be able to share this fantastic coffee with you. It boasts of red ripe fruit, juicy citrus with great balance and body. A beautifully processed natural.
